Purchasing a Cable

Through a partnership with another site, high quality USB cables will soon be available for use with Software One!

When these are ready for order, it will be announced here.

Building your own Cable
Please, don't attempt to build your own cable unless you are confident of your skills.
An improperly built interface could easily damage your Valentine OneTM!

The schematic image is large, and browsers will down-size it for display. For best results, save it to your hard drive and print it on one page using your favorite image-editing software.

Notes:

The V1 won't send out messages for the remote display unless it thinks the remote display is actually connected:Having BOTH the remote display connected along with the 4K resistor in the interface cable will result in only 2K of resistence between the 12V and Data lines, which would allow too much current to flow to the data line, potentially damaging both your detector and your remote display.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Using a Radio Programming Cable
Any of the radio programming cables used for my other software should also work with Software One, if you build a small adapter. Of course, the information in the above section about the 4K resistor still applies.
See my radio interfaces page for more information.
